There are two major risks companies must consider:

• Adoption alone may not save you. Even if you integrate AI, advanced systems (including AGI) could eventually perform the core activities your business is built on — faster, cheaper, and at scale.

• Consumer impact. If AI drives significant unemployment, purchasing power drops. That affects everyone — retail shops, restaurants, travel companies, and even B2B firms. If your customers can’t afford your services, your business feels it — directly or indirectly.

What’s concerning is that massive AI investment isn’t fully modeling these downstream economic effects. Only now is the broader conversation starting to catch up.
