SBA Lessons from History

World history is full of examples of atrocities that happened because of the inaction of good men and women in time to prevent such atrocities.

Of those atrocities, none were bigger than the Holocaust. The seeds of intolerance that ultimately led to the Holocaust started long back.

From the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 to the collapse of the Weimar Republic in 1932-33, the aiding and abetting of Hitler through the Occupation of the Rhineland in March 1936, the Anschluss of Austria in March 1938, the surrender at Munich in September 1938 and the subsequent dismemberment of Czechoslovakia, the Kristallnacht of November 1938, all were all warning signs that the world ignored before the Second World War exploded in Sept 1939 with the invasion of Poland and the slide into the horror of the Holocaust over the next six years.

We believe awareness of the Holocaust and what led up to the Holocaust are critical to creating awareness of what the world needs to be vigilant about.

We also think awareness of how close the world came to the terrible Nazi ideology prevailing worldwide is required to ensure history never repeats itself like what happened in the 1930s.

Our small role in creating that awareness is using the resources of SBA and SLS to share the history of all that happened. So hence this page of our website is devoted to creating that awareness.
