How Certain Events Determined the Outcome of WW2

Certain events eventuated fortuitously that significantly impacted the outcome of World War 2.

One such event or sequence of events was the signing of the Nazi-Soviet Pact in 1939 which could have spelt doom for Britain and the Allies.

Fortunately for the free world, Hitler broke the Nazi-Soviet Pact in 1941 which ultimately decided the outcome of World War 2.

The circumstances of how the Nazi-Soviet pact was signed despite the deep seated reservations of Stalin regarding Hitler’s ultimate intentions was macabre. 

In the current world we live in, where the war in Ukraine is being fuelled by like minded autocracies opposing Ukraine, what chances are there of fortuitous events happening that significantly transforms the outcome of the war for Ukraine due to a falling out between autocracie?. History may not repeat in such fortunate ways again.
